To have humility in this industry of hairdressing is an incredible trait. In my years of doing hair shows, I didn’t look at it as a job, it was an honor. Sharing the information I had learned over the years working with my mentors, was a very rewarding experience of emotions for me.

The change these people made in my life brought me to where I am today. A few names come to mind that I feel I must thank before going on. Alan Benfield Bush, Enzo Bonifilo, Gary Glossman, Gregory Davis, Vidal Sassoon, Robert Cromeans, and most importantly, James Morrison, Artistic Director for TIGI.

Dry Cutting is a technique that has been around for some time, however, it is not something you can do just by hearing about it. It takes time and energy to perform this technique to its potential. The aeration and diffusion this gives to the hair allows it to move in a way that can not be achieved any other way.

When adding a Dry Cut to a service, we allow extra time in our schedule to give you the best quality and service. That is why a Dry Cut has a $10 charge added to the price of the service.

We have guests who love the results of this technique so much, they come from all corners of the U.S.: New York, Boston, North Carolina, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. If you haven’t had this technique done, ask your stylist if it is right for you.

What is the difference between levels?

DESIGN STAFF

This person has worked with me diligently of a minimum of 3-6 months in all aspects of hair design learning technical skills and methods. When I feel that they are ready, then and only then, do they move over to Kris for the next 3 months to work on hair design, long hair, creative finishing skills, and polishing skills.

During this period of time, which takes approximately one year, the Design Staff Team member is always working with guests. However, they may never work alone with their own guest until they have mastered the skills necessary to approach each guest with confidence and enthusiasm.

DESIGN TRAINER

This is our second level within the salon. To reach this level the team member is above average in all skills of hair design. They have worked extremely hard to build a large guest base, and it usually takes 4-6 weeks to get in with this team member. Design Trainer’s help with all the colour training of the Design Staff, which includes techniques and patterns.

DESIGN MENTOR

It is the Design Mentor's responsibility to follow what is going on in the world of fashion. Understanding where fashion designers get their inspiration and influence helps us complete the fashion circle, by creating looks to complement the individual and the trends. Being able to create new from old, utilizing techniques and tools we use daily in the salon.

Please place your cell phones on silent upon arrival so all guests can fully enjoy their experience. All spa services require arrival 15 minutes prior to service time. This allows time to settle into the spa atmosphere so your service can start promptly. Children are welcome with an appointment.

In the event you can't make it in for your scheduled appointment, we request that you give us a minimum 24 hour cancellation notice to avoid 50% service charge. There will be a $25 service charge on all returned checks.
